The Bible: God's Word

Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We believe and accept the Authorized King James Version Bible as the infallible and correct Word of God for the English-speaking Church.  We believe the Bible answers all of life's questions.  We do not believe or accept the theology of evolutionary doctrine (2 Peter 1:20-21, Revelation 22:18-19).

Godhead

We believe in one God, who has manifested Himself to mankind in many ways, including three specific ways: the Father, or Creator of all things (Ephesians 4:6); the Word, the Son of God (John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16); and the Holy Ghost, the Comforter (John 14:26).  But all three are one spirit, not separate beings or persons (1 John 5:7).

This one God is a spirit: one spirit, not three (John 4:24).  We do not agree with the theology of Trinity, that there are "three persons of God: co-equal, co-majestic, and co-eternal" because it is not supported by Scripture (Isaiah 43:10-12).

We believe that there is only one God - the One Eternal Spirit who can present Himself to man in an infinite number of ways, not just three.  This one God created the heavens and the earth and all things, and is known as the Father.  This same one God manifested Himself to Abraham in the form of Melchisedec, to Moses in the form of the burning bush, and to the children of Israel in the form of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.

We believe that God manifested Himself in the flesh as the Son of God, Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 3:16).  Jesus Christ had both spirit and flesh: that which was spirit was God (2 Corinthians 5:19), and that which was flesh was man, known as the Son of God (Luke 1:35).  Therefore, the Son does not have a separate spirit: the spirit within that flesh was the One True God, our Father, our Savior (John 14:7-10, Isaiah 9:6).  The Son is the "express image of" the Father (Hebrews 1:3), created to be a messenger of the New Testament (John 17:6-8, Hebrews 9:15), the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all mankind (John 1:29), and the only way to the Father and salvation (John 14:6).

Salvation

Mark 16:15-16  - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

We believe the first message preached to any man is Christ: acceptance, repentance from an ungodly lifestyle, and conversion to God's way of life.  We believe that there is only one way to gain access to heaven, and that is through Christ.  We believe baptism is an inseparable part of this process, and therefore essential for salvation (Acts 2:38-39, 1 Peter 3:20-21).

Baptism shall always be in the specific name of the "Lord Jesus" or the "Lord Jesus Christ", by total immersion in water, as demonstrated to us in God's word.  Jesus speaking in the great commission said, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" (Matthew 28:19).  This clearly demonstrates to us, by the word "name" being singular, that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, are three manifestations of one God.  It further indicates that there is only one name being represented in this scripture; that one name being Jesus.  The fact is that Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not names at all; they are titles representing that one name, Jesus.

Christian Fellowship neither recognizes, nor considers valid, any other form of baptism; by reason of the fact that no other form or method was given or used, relative to salvation, in the entire word of God.

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe the gifts of the spirit, stated in 1 Corinthians 12, are still alive in the church today according to Acts 2:39.  We do not believe that the believer must speak in unknown tongues for salvation.

Rapture and Judgment

We believe that we are living in the time of sorrows while we are heading for greater tribulations and persecutions in this world (Matthew 24:36).  We believe that Christ is coming soon (no man knows when Matthew 24:36) to take all those that have accepted and followed His word (Matthew 24:30-31).

We believe, and the Bible states, that the dead in Christ shall rise first, and we who remain shall be changed and meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).  We believe in the urgency of the salvation message and that our focus must be on the salvation of man today and that no one should be left behind.

We believe there will come a second resurrection and a great judgment say (Revelation 20:11-15) where the books of life and works shall be opened, and those that were not in the first resurrection shall be judged out of what is written in those books (judgment is already set for the righteous 1 Peter4:17).  After all this, we believe that there will be a new heaven, earth and Jerusalem (Revelation 21:1-2) where the righteous shall be forever with the Lord.

Tithes and Offerings

Malachi 3:8-10 - Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee?  In tithes and offerings. 9Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.  10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

We believe in the voluntary support of the church by the believers, according to the measure God has blessed them, through the giving of tithes and offerings.

Tithe - 10% of one's gross earnings.
Offering - A voluntary gift to the church, given as God prospers a person.

Holiness

We believe, and the Word of God states, that all Christians should lead good, clean, and moral lives before God and man.  We must abstain from all appearance of evil, and not let our good be evil spoken of.  We must possess our bodies in sanctification and honor, deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.

History

Christian Fellowship Church began in 1974 as the result of individual's diligence to answer a call he was given of God to minister to lost souls not reached by the traditional church house ministry.

Pastor Davis, his wife, with his family, turned from the security of the pastorship of a congregation to street evangelism.  Despite the painful words of skeptics and critics, God moved and blessed his ministry.

Many of our church leaders are men who came to know Christ while lost in drug and alcohol abuse, but were reached by Pastor Davis' street ministry.  Today the fruits of that ministry are worldwide: men, women, and children from every social, economic, and racial background working together for God across the globe in Christian Fellowship Church Ministries, International.

As Pastor Davis continued to minister God's word to a lost and dying world, he never lost the vision for the common person on the streets.  Christian Fellowship Church Ministries International accepts open arms all who wish to come with love and compassion.
